Praying to and Loving Jesus at IHOP-KC

Praying for the Camera?!

So, I’m in the Global Prayer Room at IHOP-KC and we are taping the Daily Devotional for GodTV.   We are praying for the school campus of our choice, which for me is my kids’ high school.  I really start to engage the Lord in intercession and then, bang, Mr. Cameraman has his device right next to my face.  What do you do?  Turn and grin in a cheesy way?  Say “Hi Mom”?  Blush, stop praying and say secretly “yes, I’m on world wide television”?  Or just close your eyes and keep praying.  Man, this TV camera stuff is going to take some getting used to………

  1. The best response it to ignore the camera, but to make sure your makeup person does a better job on your base and rouge next time. Because travail is half intense Holy Spirit lead prayer and half how you look…… Am I right or what?

  2. If a seasoned prayer leader like Bill wonders this (and has the guts to blog about it), what would an amateur or teen think? It definitely affect the sincerity and quality of prayers. Just praying in BCS with 20 friends in the room, on the mike, is a challenge for me, tho alot of that is fear of the Lord (appropriately) for the responsibility of leading in a public meeting (when people prophesy in a non-harpandbowl, traditional localchurch paradigm, this fear I observe is not enough; it is good to fear the Lord).
