The False Justice Movement

One of the ways to tell if something – or someone - is from the Lord is by their reaction to the exalting of  of the name of Jesus.  The more agitated, yea, angry and violent the reaction, the more sure you can be sure they are not of the Lord.  Witness the reaction of the folks in the Castro district to young people simply wanting to worship God and bless the area in His name.  This applies, and will apply in other areas as well.

There is in our midst right now what I will call a false, or counterfeit Justice movement.  What is that you may ask?  Well, it is a movement of doing good works, specifically feeding the poor, helping street people, AIDS victims, etc.  What is wrong with that?  Isn’t that “doing good”, as we are to do as Christians?  Nothing, except we need to look at what is at the heart of the individuals and groups doing them.  Take good ole Oprah for instance.  Many, many people think she is a wonderful person, who, as my own mother has said, does “good things”.  So what’s wrong?  Well, just ask Oprah if she love Jesus, if she thinks He is necessary for her to do anything ”good”.  You will get an emphatic NO!  Oprah has even started her own “church”, which has nothing to do with Jesus.

This is where it gets rough.  If you study the book of Revelation, and other prophetic scriptures in the Bible, you will discover that the Anti Christ will be a great doer of good things, possibly even doing things like curing AIDS, as well as feeding the poor and even providing peace in the Middle East.  If we believe this is a good thing and don’t care about the source or motivation behind it, we’ll find ourselves following this man.

The point is, the “False Justice Movement” is paving the way for folks to accept the Anti Christ as a good person, one who is to be trusted and followed.  It is a slippery slope that dulls our psiritual discernment.  Even now, there are groups and coalitions that will tell you very plainly we should do good because we must, because we are humans and we should look out for each other.  It is the same idea as the homosexuals saying ”shame on you” to the young worshippers.  It is the same as using scripture to say we “shouldn’t judge” others who are homosexuals.  It is a subtle twisting that has devasting affects.  Satan tried this on Jesus in the temptation in the wilderness. (Luke 4:9-12)

As believers, we must press into the heart of God and the Word and grow in discernment.  Let’s feed the poor and help others in the name of Jesus, not humanism.

One Response to “The False Justice Movement”

  1. We all need to sharpen our psiritual discernment! Therefore let us try as hard as we can to enter God’s rest so that no one will fail by following the example of those who refused to obey. God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts. Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way we have lived.
